What Makes Us Different

  • We are not looking to turn a quick buck. We work your case up like it is going to trial.  We want to get every last dollar you are entitled to under the law, to make sure all your interests are protected adequately and to make sure you understand the impact of our recommended course of action.
  • We will call you back. Attorney Medrano is very busy, but she will make time to call her clients back. If she ever fails to do so, her staff will provide you with an appointment for a telephone or in-person conference. We never want you to feel frustrated that you can't speak with your lawyer.
  • We make claims for our clients that other firms won't bother with. Other law firm models don’t allow for the full investigation and maximization of settlements that we undertake. We do a thorough analysis of your case and injury to maximize your settlement.
  • Our firm is made up of people with healthcare and social service backgrounds making us more attuned to the whole being of our client.
  • We talk to you the way you want to be spoken to. Attorney Medrano is a no-nonsense lawyer who will "give it to you straight" and be tough on the insurance company to get you the best result. She makes sure you don't get lost in legal jargon so you can make good, informed decisions about your case.
  • We are proud to represent all workers from factory and foundry workers to nurses, housekeepers and executives on all types of work and personal injury cases.

About Attorney Medrano

Lyris Medrano zealously represents injured people in worker’s compensation and personal injury claims. She was admitted to practice before the Wisconsin Courts in 2008.

Lyris grew up in Chicago's Logan Square and Humboldt Park neighborhoods where she volunteered to social justice efforts and worked hard to be a good student and serve her community. In 2002, Lyris earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a dual major in Psychology and Criminology from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She went on to work in social services for several years, first as a family educator, caring for medically complex children in a group home in Chicago and later as a DCFS-licensed case manager serving families in northwest Cook County.

Lyris earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2008. While in law school she interned at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, volunteered at the Milwaukee County Courthouse Pro-Se Clinic and represented claimants with the Marquette Unemployment Compensation Clinic. She was also selected to compete at the Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition held at the New York Law School.

Attorney Medrano began her legal career as an associate attorney at a mid-sized labor and employment law firm in Milwaukee representing inured and disabled people in worker's compensation, personal injury and Social Security Disability claims. After several years she went on to work as an associate at another mid-sized labor and employment law firm in Milwaukee where she was mentored by one of the most regarded worker's compensation attorneys in Wisconsin, Israel Ramon. In 2013, Attorney Medrano and Attorney Ramon went on to open the law office of Ramon & Medrano S.C. Since its inception, the law firm was dedicated to providing top-notch representation to injured people from all backgrounds in Wisconsin. In 2019, upon the well-deserved appointment of Attorney Ramon to the position of Milwaukee County Register of Deeds by Governor Evers, Attorney Medrano became the sole owner of the law practice and the firm's name was changed to

Medrano Injury Law, S.C.

Attorney Medrano is tough but she prides herself on communicating with her clients in a compassionate manner that helps them to understand the process and reduces their anxieties in their time of crisis. She and her staff will do a complete file work-up to get the best result for her clients. This is why she consistently gets excellent results. She is fluent in Spanish.

Attorney Medrano has served as volunteer attorney with the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic for many years. She also served as an executive board member and is former-President of the Milwaukee Chapter of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) and as Vice-Chair of the Latino Caucus of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. She is a proud member of the Wisconsin Association of Worker’s Compensation Attorneys. She is a proud member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. She has provided many presentations to help educate the community about the rights of injured workers in Wisconsin and is happy to continue to do so upon request.

She loves to spend her free time with her husband, George, their two sons, Adrian and Abel,

enjoying the outdoors, hosting friends and family events or doing projects in their home.

Why you should call us...

The insurance company will have a lawyer;

you should have a better one.

Don’t rely on the insurance company to give you a fair settlement. Rely on the expertise of your own personal injury or worker’s compensation attorney. Let us tell you what your case is worth.

There are lots of law firms out there that dabble in worker's compensation or personal injury law. It's no surprise when their clients show up at our door for a second opinion.

This is all we do and we do it right.

About our Clients – Who We Serve
